my boyfriend just got his first dog, and he's all excited and giving the dog so much attention...i feel jealous. yesterday he was all over the dog, and didn't even touch me. it is weird and funny and ridiculous. but i feel weird when he gives so much attention to his dog. i feel as if whenever i go over to his place, he wont give me much attention... why do i feel this way? and if i know it's super silly to be feeling this way , what can i tell myself to feel?

It's just a dog.. everyone gets excited about something new!
Just let him get used to the dog. Unless, he starts sleeping with his dog... then don't worry. Geeze, relax!

Well, I just had that situation happen to me! I had been wanting some physical touching all night long, but wasn't getting any. The dog jumped up on the couch & my man started petting the dog. I said to the dog, "Boy, I wish I got it that easy from him!"
I suggest you tell him you felt jealous of the dog! It's pretty sad that he makes you feel jealous of the dog! Hopefully, if he has any sense at all, he'll realize you need more attention from him, and he'll start giving it to you. Then again, you could always try nuzzling his hand with your nose after he sits down on the couch, and say, I want some of that!

That's a bit ridiculous being jealous of a dog. He is just excited because like you said its his first dog. Dogs bring out some emotions in people that they don't get to experience just dealing with humans. Don't take it personally.

dont be jealous of a dog. if u cant stop being jealous, y don't u go hang out with ur bf AND the dog? that would be great and maybe the dog would come to like u & ur bf would appreciate it if u would hang out with him & the dog. that way, u can spend time with the dog, AND ur bf, like just the way u wanted.

You can't tell yourself what to feel... you feel jealous, it's silly, but it's what you feel and just b/c you don't want to feel jealous doesn't mean it's going to magically go away. Just tell him that when you're at his house or whatever, that you'd appreciate it if he'd spend more time with you than the dog...

Its just a dog, it most lieley only last 10-12 years. YOu'll last like what, 60 more years, or more???
Its just a dog, he cant amke out with it, your probly waaay hotter than it, and it barks. Pretty soon he'll get sick of the barking and fed up with it.

The dog is new so he gets all the attention. Remeber when you were new to him? Give it time, also remember once you leave, the dog will remain!

I hate to say this, but he is probably being rather normal. Try to form a bond with the dog too so you will not be resentful.

I was the same way with my ex when he was with his doggies, but then I saw what great fatherly qualities he had, and that jealousy turned into even more attraction!
