I think we need more leaders willing to say how they feel. GEN Pace joined the Marine Corps back in the days when that was a question on the application, so I would imagine he hated the don't ask, don't tell policy, as many of that time period did.
US Army.

I am a bit more enlightened than Pace so I think gays are no worse than any other person in the military. What you heard from Pace was some of that old cranial anal disease that afflicts the conservative officer corps.

I agree your private life should be kept private straight or gay. Its no ones business who your having sex with except for the other person involved. Also because homosexuality makes some people uncomfortable why add more drama to an already stressful life.

There are a lot of gays in the military...It's been that way for a long time. When I was active and lived in the barracks, it never bothered me. Contrary to popular belief, most gays are not really attracted to straights.

I support the general 100%.
I also believe that both homosexuals and females should not be in combat, they can possibly compromise the mission.

I don't care if the people I'm serving with are gay. If it doesnt interfere with work then i don't have a problem with it, business in there private life is none of my business. I guess don't ask don't tell works to keep the service members who are homophobic.

When I was in the Army there were alot of lesbians. They didn't act inappropriately so no one cared. As long as everyone can act like adults and do their jobs, it doesn't matter.

What is the problem with keeping it private?
Why do you homosexuals have to force it down everyone's throat?
Keep your private, off-duty actions to yourself, and no one cares!
If I was to go around saying how I screwed everyone's wife, I would surely get court-martialled.
So enough, already. Keep your affairs to yourself.
