Yeah, I hope I never have to look for another job. I'm getting into that "over qualified" relm. Kind of sucks.

I've learned or at least try to stay away from stereotyping individuals too much in general. If we're discussing tattoos, to be honest, if one does or doesn't have tattoos, you never know. To state an example...I love these example things...sorry if I do this with every single answer...but take Asian gangs. Yes, there are individuals with lots of ink BUT there are also those with no ink, no markings, nothing...but they are some pretty bad guys...that have done some scary and bad things. Tattoos or no tattoos...doesn't tell you a thing.

I am not sure if the whole stereotyping thing bothers me just because I studied it so much back in school. But stereotypes usually don't hold alot of water. They're basically this...generalizations...that's it.

Probably the opposite of the stereotype of people without tattoos (those who don't like them anyway). Maybe something like this...

Not- I mpulsive
Not- D isrespectful of their bodies
Not- I mmature
Not- O penly expressing themselves
Not- T aking risks
Not- S eeking attention

And the opposite of all the other cliches my Dad threw at me when my husband and I got our wedding rings tattooed on. (Hubby works in construction, so a gold band was not an option!) 8 years and a retouch later, the marriage is still going and the rings have never been lost :-)

There are as many stereotypes for people with out tattoos as there are for the inked.
As varied as the tattoos themselves. I know why you asked this question, because of all the stupid "what are stereotypes of people with tattoos" questions on here. And you may have been looking for a sarcastic reply...but I am feeling philosophical here...must be the green tea I am drinking.

I know lots of people who don't have them. My husband thinks they look cool, but cant think of anything he wants on his body forever. And if anyone would have it, a motorcycle riding (used to race em) Truck building ford mechanic would. My sister does not have any yet...she may later, but right now she is ink-less. And she is a former SGT in the US Army, and a cop and the most bad *** kick *** women you will ever meet. You cant say she is lame...Just not ready to get a tattoo. I have a friend who likes to re-invent her style ever few years...she has fun with it, and she recognizes that she is whimsical enough and picky enough that what she wants now may be totally different from what she likes in 3 years...which is why she doesn't have them.

There are lots of narrow minded people in the world, and they are not limited to simply the ink-less...many of the inked can be just as narrow minded.

i think the whole idea of stereotypes regarding having or not having tattoos is pretty much dead. The % of people that do not have tattoos that don't like us are growing smaller and smaller every day.

before I got my tattoo i was a person without one and i was the same person then as i am now..im not any cooler cause i have a tat and im not any less cooler.

Peace out dude.

Hmmm.... just look at the guy that posted the very first answer on here, bet he has no ink. Uptight, judgemental, boring, no imagination, cardboard cutout individuals..... Basically small minded, self involved boobs.

Well, since we're talking about stereotypes and not what they actually are, here's a few off the top of my head:

Elitist/classist - "Only the less enlightened/poor/uneducated get inked"
Vain - "My goodness, what will you look like at 80?"
Paranoid - "You'll get cancer, HIV, Hepatitis, your foot will fall off, you'll be poisoned by the ink and die of infection"
Rumor mongers - "I hear most people hate their tattoos"
Sexist - "Only tramps get tattoos"/"Still beating your wife, man?"
Blind - "They look like crap"

I have to admit, the last is my favorite. :)

hmm.. lemmings, close-minded, .. personally I think most of them are so repressed they wouldn't know something beautiful, or spiritual if it jumped up and bit them on the nose, but that's my own prejudices talking..
Usually I don't care if people have ink or not.. but it's the ones that scream about anyone with ink that get on my last nerve.
