Bananas have a lot of potassium and calories but they are good for you.

Bananas, like all foods, have the potential to be fattening. They are fattening if they contribute energy (kilojoules) excess of our body's needs. Because bananas have higher sugar and lower water content compared with most other fruits, they have more kilojoules than the same weight of fruits such as apples, apricots, oranges and pears. Nevertheless, bananas can be useful in weight reduction diets as they have virtually no fat and are filling.

Bananas are good if you are into a very heavy workout, as their calorie level is a little high. You are better with an apple, peach, plumb or pear. On average try to have 1or more apples a day at least -& eat all the skin as that's where the immume henancing stuff is stored.

Bananas are great before a work out! For one, they help prevent cramps...I used them for years while playing sports that involved lots of running.

Also, yes they do have calories...but calories are a form of energy, and it's not like bananas have a lot of calories from fat.

bananas actually contain more calories than most other fruits - for an average sized banana, it's about 100 calories.

They are still healthier than chocolate though! ;-) but make sure you are very careful, because bananas contain a lot of potassium and if you eat too many bananas then you can feel very ill.

Bananas have a lot of sugar in them. It's natural sugar of course, but still sugar to your body. Some people, like me, cannot tolerate them very well - for me, eating bananas will stop my weight loss. And diabetics like my grandma can only have half of a banana if the banana is on the large side.
