Drawing Salve: Prid
That's the only one I know of.I use it for antiseptic reasons. If you use drawing salve, it will relieve the pain and bring the splinter to the surface.Good luck! and don't forget to update your first aid supplies!

Well... for splinters that aren't that deep, you can put a drop of Elmer's glue on your thumb and let it dry, then you take it off... but for the deeper ones my parents would always use what we called monkey blood... It wasn't monkey blood of course, but I don't know what the medical term for it is... anyways... they would put that on there and then it would kind of work it's way out. Also, you could just have someone dig around with a needle... my mom did that too... hope I helped! :-)

In the location you describe with the pain you describe, I would defer to a hand surgeon. It sounds like the splinter is near one of your sensory nerves. Plucking around in there might not be the best idea.

Try using an oral numbing gel, like "Anbesol"... it numbs the skin and lubricates the splinter. In most cases, the splinter will slip right out if you apply pressure to the right spot.

Try putting glue on your finger, letting it dry, then carefully pulling the glue off your finger. the splinter should comewith it. If that doesn't work, get creative with a pair of tweezers, a sewing needle, and nail clippers.

I always just use tweezers to get splinters out. You have to make sure they're sterilized, though. I'm not sure if your splinter would be too deep for tweezers.

Use something oily like Glycerin or cooking oil or soybean oil or a body oil like almond, etc. to encourage the wood to come to the skin surface and get a pair of tweezers to pull it out.. I had one where it did not hurt, just slightly uncomfortable and eventually it fill fall out with the new skin growth.
