Well, when my son was 2 I told him that his pacifier had got lost and he completely forgot about it! No traumas at all, as he understood that there was no way to recover it.

Your 2 year old may be a little young for this, but it worked perfectly for my sister. What you do is you tell your littlun that the pacifier fairie will be stopping by that night so she can take all the extra pacifiers to the needy little kids who need them. Take all the pacifiers and put them in a bag. Put the bag in a tree or on your porch or something. While the littlun is asleep take the bag of pacifiers and dispose of them or hide them. Leave a present where the bag was and when the littlun wakes up tell them the fairie left them a present.
Good Luck!

You don't say how much she uses it, so I"ll assume it's all the time. Start by limiting it to the house and car--never let it be seen in public again. When she gets used to that, limit it to only the house. When she gets used to that, limit it to only the bed. Then you have a decision to make, because the only thing left is cold-turkey taking it away for bed. So you'll have to decide how long you're going to let her have it for sleeping. When you're ready, maybe the pacifier fairy can make a visit and leave a toy and take the pacifier.

I'm not trying to be flip but the answer is...you take it away and don't give it back. 2 year olds are easily distracted. Tell him they're "all gone" then give him a cookie or a toy or something. It'll be tough for a week or 2 but he'll get over it. Whatever you do, don't give in "just this once" or you'll be back to square 1. Good luck.

My little one was 3, and VERY attached to her susu, we simply cut the tip off, she put it in her mouth said "I don't like that" and that was the end of it. Now it might not be as simple as that, but the point is, it isn't necessarily complicated either. An idea we were going to try was that the soother fairy comes and takes it in the night and leaves a small gift......we didn't need to resort to it, but it's something the keep in mind! Hope this helps!

So, I observed this episode of Supernanny. The kinfolk had the comparable undertaking. Nanny had the youngster positioned the binky in a sack, tie it to a tree and stated the binky fairy might come and take it and leave a ask your self. At evening they took the binky, replaced it with a handle, and that replaced into it. i'm undecided how sensible that's, in spite of the indisputable fact that it worked on television :)

tell her she is a big girl now and she does not need pacifiers anymore. then take them and throw them away. buy her a new big girl present and that should do it as long as you don't give in she should be off of them. good luck.

I recommend using a book "the Binky Ba-Ba Fairy" which helps kids give up their pacifiers and bottles. It really works!

Only allow her to have it certain times of the day then start to shorten those timese until oooppps it's disapears. It will be hard she will cry but sometimes this is the only way, but I suggest throwing it away so you can not give in so easily.

When my son was little, we put them all in a big yellow envelope, took them to the post office and mailed them to the hospital for all the new babies.
