We have been together for 4 years and have only broken up twice. But he tells me he loves me than a month or so later he feels 50/50 on the situation and he wants to back off. I am just so tired, but I really do love him.

If you love each other, awesome. Space is a healthy thing in a relationship, but there's a fine line between healthy space and a dude who leaves then feels like he can come and go as he pleases because you'll always take him back. Maybe you should give him a choice, in or out, because he needs to know you have limits.

No matter what, if he feels you guys need to back off, then that what both of you should do. There is not YOU TWO its him and you. That is the perfect chance to do the right thing or make sure you have the right combination to make the relationship last for the long haul. If you do not make things right now, it will not go anywhere...LOVE is not enough a lot of times.
If you are tired and he is tired...you should take a break and be friends...if nothing happens, then that is life...

You have to break it off. Your just wasting each others time like that. Imagine a few years from now your going to get married and your not even going to stand each other. Everything he does says,suggests will get on your nerves. I would say just stay friends but thats it. You don't want him to go find something better then come back to you when that doesn't work out, see a bimbo somewhere go with her a while, come back to you when that doesn't work. You get my drift? If you were truly in love I don't think you would feel that way, you wouldn't want to be apart.

Sounds to me like he is wishy washy , and I think if it was me in the situation that you are in, I would bow out gracefully of the relationship because it seems like a no win situation and many more years of pain and hurt and frustration...and you never gain those years back. You seem young and I feel you can find love that will love you back and give you inconditional love that you want and need elsewhere~

If you have been together for four years, you both know whether or not you love each other. It sounds like he is being afraid of commitment. If that is what you need and want, then you need to be upfront and so should he. If he is not ready after all this time, he may never be. I would definitely find out. Good luck.

If your tired its time to move on. Its worthless trying to make something work if its really going to be that hard. I say give up on this relationship. A man that backs off like that is not fully ready for commitment. Find someone that is.

my friend went through the same thing and i kept on telling her that she did not deserve it, but she insisted that she was in love with him, eventually they called it off and she was heart broken, but she then found a new boyfirend and he treats her with the up most respect and she could not be happier, so it may hurt but in the long run a break up might be best. Maybe something is just bothering him. Try talking to him about it. Also sounds like hes unsure of what he wants, Maybe you should take some time away from one another and see if you get back together. If you do great.. if not then you know it wasnt meant to be. gl whatever you decide to do

I know how it feels to be with someone for a long time and not wanna leave them. But to be honest I would try to find out if he is being wih someone else on the side. Trust me guys like to have there cake and eat it to. Im not telling you to leave him but make sure your not getting strung along. And always follow your heart.
