A boyfriend is someone who you deeply care about and want a relationship with! You guys go out and have fun! It's like a smaller version of engagement! The boyfriend will sacrifice stuff for you! (not illegal stuff)

I think the context you are talking about it a male lover, in order for that to be understood you need to have a conversation with this guy about making your relationship exclusive.

Anyone who uses "someone who you make out with" as part of the definition does'nt know what a boyfriend is.
A bf is someone who loves a girl, and only her. Well, not really love. But like, he is loyal to her. Tries to make her happy and tries to help her out. Someone you have fun with. NOt just physically.
