My husband and I would like to take a trip down south to the Caribbean somewhere in January of 2008. We do not want to go to Mexico. We are thinking Cuba or the Dominican Republic. We do not have too much money to spend. Maybe like 2000 @ the most. Can anyone recommend anywhere? I would like it to be all-inclusive as well.

If you are a US citizen, then it is illegal to travel to Cuba.

The Dominican Republic isn't very nice (and that is putting it nicely) and most of the rest of the Caribbean is either over priced or over rated.

Try the Keys or Miami, both are very nice that time of year. If you have your heart set on the Caribbean, try Bermuda or Grenada.

Try out Curacao, and look into the Curacao Breezes Resort. It's a super-inclusif hotel, with plenty on activities on site.
Curacao has plenty of things to see and do everywhere, so you'll get your monet's worth.
