so my ex that i dated for 2 1/2 yrs and i have been getting quite close lately though she has a bf. In her words, she's daint me on the side first without commitments to see if a relationship w/ me would work again an pretty much is cheating on her bf. can this situation possibly work out in my favor? i dont want her to think she can do this forever...i'll give this a month or 2 and then ask her to make a decision...does that sound good? i just don't want to share her like this. In the mean time, she still says we're in love and stuff and complains about her bf but she is still with him. should i try hard to win her over in this time? cuz her bf, he doesn't do anything for her ...ever. i just dont want her to think that things can stay like this forever.

you dated her for 2 1/2 years and you broke up...was it because she was cheating on you?
she has a boyfriend
she wants to cheat with you
so she is really cheating on the both of you
do I have this right?
So the question is do you really want to be with someone who cheats or not....because you need to realize, and sorry to repeat myself, that she is already cheating on you...and him
she is cheating on both of you
If you want a woman like that in your life that you would always have to wonder about then do what you have planned.
Personally I would want someone who loves me enough to be faithful to me and me alone.

Main thing is think about the reasons you broke up in the first place. Also you have to think about whatever she isn't getting from her b/f she is trying to get from you, she wants the best of both worlds and that's not really fair to you or the other guy. You are right that you know this can't go on, but you have to decide whether this is worth it because she is playing you both out.

You just need to sit down and talk to her because it sounds to me she is confused about which of you she should keep and at the same time keeping you waiting which is not fair at all .
How do you feel about this ? Do you love her still ? It is up to you whether or not you will choose to wait until she makes the decision .

What she's saying contradicts what she's doing. Don't you wonder if she will be faithful if she's cheating on her boyfriend with you? An ex is an ex for a reason, find someone available and move on.
