Should I take her to meet the daycare people ahead of time, or wait until the day she starts going? Should I stay with her for a while in the daycare until she gets acclimated, and then leave? Please share your recommendations & experiences. Thanks!

What a sad answer, Mr. Rick. Oh well, I guess I take the cold-hearted answers with the great ones. Good day!

She's old enough to talk to simply about the situation. I'd start a day or two before you go and just tell her that she's going to go play with some new kids. Sound happy about it. Call them friends.

If you like, I'd say visit a couple days before for only one hour, during a fun time. Then I'd stay in the background and let her get to know the new kids and teacher. That should help her get used to the new place.

When you do take her on the first day, though, I wouldn't stick around. The teachers are well trained and equipped to take care of little ones that have a hard time, but most will be just fine at that age. Good luck!

He was fine if your relaxed and excited about your child will most likly get those feelings from you and be okay every child is different if you have to stick around or start the child off by going an hour a day and than longer and longer good luck and I hope you child has fun

I would take her one day to see how she reacts to it. You might be suprised how well she does. I would just stand off to the side and see how she interacts. She may not even care if you're there or not, which would be a good thing. You don't want her to go to a place she doesn't like. It's always a good idea to take her there before you're actually going to leave her, you also want to check things out for yourself. Good Luck

Stay with her for the first half of the day or for an hour and then the next day leave her there. She will get used to it.

You don't "transition" a child! What are you doing, passing her through an airlock?

Just take her to the new place and leave her there.

Acclimated?

Is she autistic? Does she have some kind of transitional disorder? Seriously. Because if she DOESN'T - then just take her there, kiss he rhead and say "have fun!"
