The idea that Jesus is equal to God is based on the Catholic Athanasian Creed, not on the Bible.
According to the Athanasian Creed: "So there is One Father, not Three Fathers; one Son, not Three Sons; One Holy Ghost, not Three Holy Ghosts. And in this Trinity none is afore or after Other, None is greater or less than Another, but the whole Three Persons are Co-eternal together, and Co-equal."
So, the AC says in part: "None is greater or less than another." That is obviously false because Jesus said: "The Father is greater than I am. (John 14:28) Also, at 1 Cor. 11:3, it says: "The head of the Christ is God." Does God have a head? No. But Christ does.
If Jesus is equal to God, who then is the God and Father of Jesus? Col. 1:3? Is he his own God and Father?
If Jesus is God, why is he seated at the right hand of God?
So Jesus and his Father are not equal. At John 17:3, Jesus called his Father the only true God.
If Jesus is God, who gave him the Revelation? Rev. 1:1.
As a man, not only was Jesus lesser than his Father, he was ALSO lower than angels. See Heb. 2:7, 9.
Trinitarians have no scriptures to prove that Jesus and his Father are equal. They may not be aware of it, but they are trying to make Jesus a liar because Jesus said very plainly that his Father was greater than he was.

At first it seems as if this verse contradicts all that Jesus had taught concerning His equality with God the Father. But there is no contradiction, and the pasage explains the meaning. When Jesus was here on earth, He was hated and hunted, persecuted and pursued. Men blasphemed Hm, reviled Him, and spat on Him. He endured terrible indignities from the hands of His creatures. God the Father never suffered such rude treatment from men. He dwelt in heaven, far away from the wickedness of sinners. When the Lord Jesus returned to heaven, He would be where indignities could never come. Therefore, the disciples hould have rejoiced when Jesus said that He was going to the Father, because in this sens the Father was greater than He. The Father was not greater as God, but greater because He never came into the world as Man to be cruelly treated. As fas as the attributes of deity are concerned, teh Son and the Father are equal. But when we think of the lowly place which Jesus took as a Man here on earth, we realize that in that sense, God the Father was greater than He. He was greater as to His position but not His Person.

That is a good question . It is one of the many things that has not been revealed to me. I have been taught that That the Trinity is just one man that held all three offices. But from what i consider all indications, God and Christ are two different entities. The Son sitting at the right hand of God. How can that be? And yes they were the same in mind and spirit. Ergo, I am in the father and the father in me. and If you have seen me you have seen the father etc. Maybe they were so like minded spiritually that for all intents and purposes they WERE one. I just don't know!!!. Maybe someone can teach me. But teach me the way i teach it. In plain street jargon, and to the point .

in lots of procedures that's impossible to respond to your question, no longer using fact there is no longer an answer, yet using fact to truly understand the respond we ought to have a revelation from Jesus. Neither this communicate board nor i will effectively positioned across to you the whole diploma of an sufficient answer. although, right this is my humble and insufficient answer, which i wish will instruction manual you on the spectacular course and removed from the errors you presently seem to have: The be conscious "God" is a identify, this is the identify of the perfect god. using fact of this you get verses like "properly known that the LORD is God" (Psalm one hundred:3). The holder of the identify "God" is The LORD (employing his public call). for the reason that "God" is a identify, it must be this is just one individual, yet additionally it must be a number of persons that love one yet another and are united of their ideals, each with the countless might and potential and know-how and documents and omnipresent nature and holiness and the forever begotten existence of God. The revelation Jesus introduced to us become that God is 3 persons, the daddy, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit or Counsellor, one and all possessing the traits mentioned above. whilst the Apostle John wrote "for God is love" (a million Jn 4:8) that would not make experience if God become only one individual, even though it does make experience if God has 3 persons who love one yet another and love us. i don't be attentive to precisely why the daddy is extra effective than Jesus, yet scriptures like the Lord's Prayer, "Our Father, who's in Heaven, Holy is your call ... " provide us the theory that portion of his greatness is with the help of the fact he exists in Heaven and that he's rather holy. Jesus seen it an amazing honour to have the daddy honour him. be conscious this magnificent experience of honour that exists between the daddy, the Son, and the Holy Spirit? that's this feeling of love and honour that binds them at the same time to type God. My thank you on your question.

Jesus (God in Flesh) became the sacrifical lamb to pay for our sins. Jesus CHOOSE to become a servant unto God for us.
Hebrews 1
1 Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. 2 And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. 3 The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. 4 This shows that the Son is far greater than the angels, just as the name God gave him is greater than their names.
Hebrtews 5:9 What we do see is Jesus, who was given a position “a little lower than the angels”; and because he suffered death for us, he is now “crowned with glory and honor.” Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone. 10 God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation.

Here's the thing. Jesus is God. When Jesus assumed the human form, He essentially gave up His power. He did not lose it, He GAVE it up so that He may become fully human. God the Father still kept His power. While Jesus was not fully-powerful while He was on Earth, He depended upon His other part of Himself to help Him. He came so that we may have an example, and show us that God the Father is greater than we humans are. Hope that helps. Faith in Christ-go to Heaven....

Jesus is equal to God. He submitted himself to God's authority and came to earth. You must compare Scripture with other Scripture in order to aviod heresy. Check this out:
Philippians 2:5-11 King James Version
5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Father's ROLE is greater than Jesus'. It was the Father's plan of salvation, and Jesus was the means.
The persons of the Trinitarian God are equal in substance, but their roles are different. Not more or less important, just different.
Just as my wife is my equal, but her role is different from mine.
