Are you saying that you had your taxes prepared by someone, and they said you had to pay $100 to get your refund? Sounds like that's their fee for preparing your return - if so, then you owe them their fee.

Well, tax preparation fees are used throughout the industry. However, it is always agreed upon up front and is completely visible to the customer. H&R Block actually offers for you to pay their tax preparation fees out of your tax return!

Either way, you can also save money on your tax expenses this year. I discovered a site that will pay you back your tax expenses, including some of your owed taxes if you do owe. I went through the site, filled out the necessary information, and got a check for all of my H&R Block preparation expenses. Go to the link below and get your money back...

If you filed with a company, you should have kept your W2s, you can always file again for free on-line by going to www.irs.gov if you make under a certain amount a year. Plus see if you are qualify for some of the tax credits like EIC and the phone credit. They can not make you pay if you do make under a certain amount anyway, they can not make you pay if you do not have the money. What they want for you to do it get one of those pre-pay loan checks so they can take a 3rd of your money right off the top. If you file on line and get direct deposit you get your money with in 2 weeks at the latest sometime even sooner. It is also pretty much the same amount of time if you ask for a check by mail, but you know your mail man and the post office. Sometimes they are slow.
So if you make under a certain amount and take the right deductions and credits, you should be getting a nice refund and not have to pay any one anything. Check it out.

Its complete bull---t!

Report them to your local Better Business Bureau or contact the Fraud Unit of your local Police and report them.

The method they are using is blackmail - totally illegal.

All they are doing is charging you $ 100 to prepare your return, why dont they just say that? No idea.

Go to your local H & R Block tax prep office - they are not known to use these tactics.

Best Wishes.

you usu have the option to either pay up front or to take it out ..but if you cant pay upfront .. i think by having them take it out its more money .. i wanted to do the same ( have them take it out ) but they said it would better for me to just pay it .. because its at a set price and there wouldnt be any add'l charges as well .. so i dont have money like that either ...but im gonna pay this week .but if they havent told how much your going to get back ..ask them .. that should somewhat motivate to look past the change you have to pay ..and take some of your returned money and start saving it ..so you wouldnt have to go through this again .
