I am 24 and I have sleeves on both arms, a large leg piece and a few other tattoos. They are all beautiful and resemble paintings of japanese art. None of them could be considered offensive in any way. I am 5 feet tall and look very conservative if the tattoos are covered. When they are not I get a lot of different reactions . I have seen people pull their children away from me. I have has people ask if i was a lesbian, or a biker, or a drug addict....I am none of those things. People assume I am wild and I don't a have a job. I actually have a career in the medical field. The one I LOVE the most is that people assume I slept with an artist to get my tattoos done. It makes me laugh. I love my work and couldn't imagine myself without them! Steroetypes are ignorant assumptions!

I got my first tattoo when I was 41 and we were on vacation. I have 3 grown children, 2 in college and one that works a job she loves. I don't think tattoos are slutty or trampy if they are in good taste. It's now a vacation tradition that my husband and I get a tattoo to remember our vacation.
When I got my second tattoo I asked the artist if it was rude to look at other peoples tats and he said no way, most people love showing off there tattoos. I personally love them and I am looking for my next design.

Some people from older generations still believe that tattoos on any gender are a poor decision. I think the most common stereotype would be that the girl was either "white-trash" or a biker. Personally, I find women with tattoos extremely attractive as do many of my male friends. More and more females are getting tattoos just as more and more people are accepting them. Stereotypes of tattoos are dying down dramatically by our generation.

I personally don't have any and I don't think that it is fair to stereo type anyone. Back in the day it was thought of as trashy, or slutty. I think they are nice if they are in a tasteful manner and have true meaning. I don't particularly like ones that are offensive and especially don't like ones that support gangs. I think anything that stands for hate is aweful. Don't have any tats, but I Love Piercings! Nose, belly button, cartilidge and ears...

generally, girls in their 20`s with tattoos were considered tramps, sluts, etc...nowadays, thank god, this just isn`t true!!! many females in very diverse professions have body art & it is more common for women to get tattoos these days, which is helping to dissipate these sort of stereotypes...

It is so common that a girl has a tattoo in her twenties now a days, so any stereotype would be flase, but a tattoo on a girls lower back is called a tramp stamp, which is false, because I am not a tramp, but that is a stereotype...

who cares? a stereotype is a standardized mental picture that is held in common by members of a group and that represents an oversimplified opinion and prejudiced attitude. why would you want to be known as one of those people that, pretty much, can't have an opinion on their own. don't worry about what others ignorant, judgmental opinions may be.

tattoos are sexy, when tastefully done.

it is so across the board with this one. People in thier 50's and 60's are getting tats...i know this one lady who is 72 and she just got her naval pierced..go girl..lol...

It seems like the whole stereotyping of anyone with tats is pretty much gone except for some nitwits here and there...

Well everyone had there own opinion. I won't judge anyones tatoo unless it is something gross, then it might make them look trashy. I want to get a tatoo.
