I have to get in shape atlease in ok shape in one month, I was pretty active before but have not really execised in about a year. What are some tips to get me started, I have no time to waist i have to start today, I was thinking of running as much as my body will let me everyday and doing push ups and sit ups every day aswell. any tips?

Wow! Slow down. Your question doesn't define your "getting in shape" idea. Want to loose weight, ie, size? Or you only want to tone your body as to be more physically strong? Of course toning your body has the "side effect" of loosing extra fat and to some, even loosing weight, but it's different if you're trying to loose a big amount of weight in just one month. If you want to do things right, don't push yourself to the limit, for you'll most likely end up injured. Forget about running all day long! First: Drink 2 liters of water daily and above all, avoid sodas and other artificial drinks. Second: Eat healthy and moderate portions of food. You can eat more then 3x per day, as long as the other meals get accounted as nutritional small size snacks. If you like running, do so x 30 min. a day. If able to, use small weights when exercising different parts of your body. Try to work upper body parts 3x week and lower body parts 2x week for 30-45 min. Using weights when exercising will burn fat sooner while building muscle (Toning body). Weights too heavy won't help you loose fat, but will form muscle on top of the fat, so don't over do it. A certified instructor will help you find out how much weight you need to do for each part of your body depending on your strength and endurance. I did small weights 2x week for an hour and it helped me loose 5pounds and almost 2 sizes. My problem though, was more on the bottom part then in anything else. Good luck!

Sounds like boot camp, and yes it will work. But you dont have to do that much running, only about 30 minutes a day and only 5 days a week...you might want to add a bike or eliptical so that you ease some of the strain on you joints....but good luck, you should do fine.
