not in the presence of the kids?
Why should a judge give the spouse the kids because the other spouse drinks a bottle of wine after the kids go to sleep at night.
In my town, you only get what is a parking ticket if you have enough for only one person.
Why is this more imoral than sex with a person to whom you are not married while the kids are there? Why is one OK and the other not?
Thanks for helping me write my paper.

Because smoking weed can seriously impaired your judgment. Even though you don't smoke in front of your children, when you are high, you are not in the right state of mind to take care of a child. You can get very sleepy, careless, do crazy things that you think are funny but are actually dangerous.

It is not a healthy environment for a child.

Judges are trying to reflect the desires of the community so that they are "politically correct" Most are so jaded they could give a darn about what people do as long as it doesn't keep them out of office! Study the campaign criterion of the Governor and Attorney General and The District Attorney and you will know what way and why the "Judge" does what he does. Discretion and wisdom and consideration for the effect on the family have very little to do with it. Follow the money!!The perks, the raises, the grants, the bid assignments, in a nut shell "Quid pro quo" They are serving an agenda for political gain. Now about the "sleeping around" you open the door to your home with the children to men who you do not know the background or perversions of; you act on lust only, not thinking your child could be molested! And your children will pattern after your behavior as well. Then; the "parking ticket" item is a referal to the degree of punishment or fine, received in your community for an once of marijuana. Marijuana distorts the sense of time and thus makes you an irresponceable parent if you smoke even one joint. You could leave the stove on or do any number of forgetful things indangering the kids. A glass of wine at dinner or after dinner is fine and you are not compromised by it. However this drinking is "over the top" "one bottle" of wine is an alcoholic! A threat and a danger to children and anyone else including the self! And you then lump all this lack of virtue and control into one and the same category; "break one law, break all" same as the ten commandment requirement for Jews or legalists. And you know what? Your right! They are all left wanting and equally short of the goal! Which should be a virtueous marriage for the children to emulate.

hm-mm 1. Weed is illegal. The possession of it, the buying of it. You can't have that around kids. As a parent you have to be a role model and teaching illegal activity is wrong. 2. A whole bottle of wine is a lot. What if you have to help the children? Fire or medical emergency. Your judgment and abilities would be greatly impaired. You would try to drive with your kids in the car after a bottle of wine? Hope not! 3. God love the hippies, the flower children of the 60's are now in the positions of power and the laws reflect this. The laws are to punish the criminals and its still illegal to have pot but it is a case of relaxing the burden on the judicial system by making the punishment fit the crime. Society standards consider pot to be relatively harmless by itself, now many individual will have differing opinions on this, but I am talking broad terms. Notice methamphetamine would not get you a ticket because the view of society is this is very bad, possession is usually a felony. 4. The love life thing is a back to the right to move on and have a life and kids. If the kids are watching, listening at the door, or involved makes it worse than the pot thing, but it really it boils down to one is immoral but the other is illegal. Good Luck, hope this helped.

Personally I think once you take on the task of being a parent you should give up your old habbits. Now drinking some wine with a meal or at a special function is one thing but getting trashed every night after your kids go to bed is neglect in my eyes. Maybe your child isnt seeing you do it but it does affect them simply because what happens if they wake up and need something, your drunk and have a hard time helping them. And smoking weed is illegal so any illegal activity done by a person that has kids should be treated seriously. Its second hand smoke and all the other things that could go along with it. And about sex with someone other than who your married to with the children there..I think thats just trashy and dirty anyway. I believe if the mother OR father is sleeping around with multiple women or men while they have the children then thats just as bad as smoking weed or laying around drunk all the time.

The judge should take away your children because of all the hazards! Effects of Marijuana on the Brain. Researchers have found that THC changes the way in which sensory information gets into and is acted on by the hippocampus. This is a component of the brain's limbic system that is crucial for learning, memory, and the integration of sensory experiences with emotions and motivations. Investigations have shown that THC suppresses neurons in the information-processing system of the hippocampus. In addition, researchers have discovered that learned behaviors, which depend on the hippocampus, also deteriorate.

A bottle are you kidding me. She could mistakenly kill someone or molest a child. Alcohol contributes to 100,000 deaths annually, making it the third leading cause of preventable mortality in the U.S., after tobacco and diet/activity patterns. Alcohol is a nervous system depressant, which can affect virtually every organ in the body, since it goes directly into the bloodstream. It lowers inhibitions and impairs judgment, leading to unsafe behaviors, and eventually even death.

Cheating husbands or cheating wives often, unfortunately, lead to the demise of marital relationships. If you strongly suspect this to be true for your situation you will want to protect yourself legally. If there is betrayal, lying and deception regarding a third party, other forms of deception may exist financially or in other areas of the relationship. Having “evidence does have some impact in some court systems. Whether you need to protect yourself legally depends on the kind of affair facing you and the character of your spouse. And it sets in ytour childs mind that is morally okay!

I think weed is not nearly as bad as alcohol. The only answer I can think of about why smoking weed is bad enough to have your kids taken away is because when you're stoned your reflexes are much slower and if there were an emergency situation you may not be able to respond appropriately (although that could apply to being drunk too).

Well for one weed is illegal and impairs your judgment, even if you are not around the kids when you do smoke, you may be soon after. Also not setting a good example.
Drinking is fine, though it is how much you consume and the things you may do while intoxicated. It is not safe for a child to be around someone who gets drunk every night, they may be abusive when they are intoxicated.
Having sex with someone you are not married to is not illegal.

Well legally there are direction for drinking. It is not illegal. If you call the company that manufactures the product they tell you the recommended usage of any kind of liquor. Smoke "pot" is illegal. People who do smoke it are breaking the law, regardless of my views on it. That is just the way it is.
For the rest of your question, I didn't understand what you were asking.

Having sex with some one does not affect your ability to function. When you smoke weed and you become your sense are impaired and your ability to properly care for your child is impaired.
Also, it is illegal and that would make you a criminal.
Finally, think of the associate one gains from smoking weed. They probably buy it from criminals, which could result in some dangerous acquaintances. Or the people he/she gets it from say friends, could have shady acquaintances.
Hope this helps with your paper.

they shouldn't as long as the kids aren't seeing it and around to inhale any smoke. weed is better for you than alcohol in many ways including killing less brain cells, eventually it will be legal again but for now the ignorant people running this government consider it a horrible crime that they enforce unlike having sex with anyone you want which is also a crime but never enforced because there would be to many top officials in jail or prison because there are tons of politicians that screw around on there wives including our ex president
