soya sauce does contain a lot of salt so I guess you're right there and because of the high salt levels it is kinda bad for you

I read somewhere that the original Chinese/Japanese way of making it gives a healthy product but because it takes a long time to make, big business in the West use a different way which is quicker but gives an unhealthy result for some reason.

too much sot sauce is bad because it has too much salt and if it has msg, then you have to switch brands. i guess you can use it as a salt substitute.

Most soy is genetically modified, making it VERY bad for you. Google "roundup ready soy" for details. It contains loads of sodium too.
