I'm sorry, but this is more than just out of the "mainstream." Some of the ideas are potentially harmful (such as having dental implants removed!)
I've done some extensive research since this "stuff" has been frequently posted here and have found lots of information on this pseudo-science. They are proclaiming the health-care equivalent of "the earth is flat." None of it is backed up by reviewed studies and in some cases NO studies or documentation is offered.
Look, I don't mind people trying alternative ways to improve their health. Eat an apple a day, try acupuncture for pain, drink herbal tea to sleep. None of those things will harm you.
But the suggestions of "biologic dentists" DO have the potential to do great harm and I'm very surprised Yahoo! has added to their credibility by calling them a "top contributor."
In fact, ALL dentists are "biologic" since they all have studied biology and other sciences relating to the human body. There is no such thing as a "biologic dentist" except in the make-believe world of some of these conspiracy web-sites.

biologic dentists go to the same school you all go to. Most of them have been in practise for 30 years +, but due to what they have seen, observed and learned, they have not blindly followed, they have remained open to learning and if they see a pattern of concerning outcomes from amalgam use, if they've seen enough studies, seen it become banned in other areas, start to see changes in themselves and/or patients, then yes, it is no wonder after years of this that a growing number become biologic.
No it is not a scam. I've experienced amalgam poisoning and have come across it daily online, on forums, and even if I had not, my own life experince with it was enough for me, without even reading the many other horror testimonies I've come across. Letters to the ADA are available online if people wish to look that up and read testimonies. This is the kind of stuff general dentists do not wish anybody to read and learn about. They dont want to know and to my mind, it would seem they dont really care either. If they did, they'd get involved and start to deeply consider their own use of this stuff, when seeing the testimonies. But ignorance is bliss as they say.
Their real enemy is the biologic dentist, and the other side of this reachign the public. Is it any wonder they are going hell for leather to keep this suppressed? The ADA is doing the same thing. It is actually an evil evil substance they are using and the amount of excuses they use to try and impress on people that its safe becomes more and more ludicrous. Considering it's already being banned in some areas should say enough!
In fact, it's almost like living in the dark ages to keep using it and fooling oneself and others that it is safe!

I've had several patients ask me about different aspects of biologic dentistry, such as the safety of amalgam. I answer with the information we have been taught in dental school, which is founded on scientific data, that amalgam is perfectly safe to use for dental restorations, etc....
Many things biologic dentists believe does not agree with what we are taught during dental school.
Where do biologic dentists go to school? At American dental schools?

non-biologic dentists.
The Biologic Dentists have to deal with all the toxins the non-biological dentists put in the patients. the patients lose their health, their ability to work, their house.... It is horrible and I have seen it firsthand now for 5 years. The poster below somehow thinks Biologic Dentists are in Mexico. The majority are all over the US and the world.

A SCIENTIFIC RESPONSE to the American Dental Association's Special Report and Statement of Confidence in Dental Amalgam:
http://emporium.turnpike.net/P/PDHA/mercury/asr.htm
The dentist I have referred to has been a dentist 30 years and a biologic dentist over 15 years. One day, he put 15 amalgams in a 12 year old boy. The boy got severe migraines. He couldn't bear to think that it was something he had done. he began to study mercury. Then, he began taking the fillings out and replacing them. The more he removed, the less the headaches. today he is happy and health. It was then he said, "That's it, no more mercury in my office!"
Myself, I nearly died of mercury poisoning. If it were not for my dentist, I would have: http://curezone.com/forums/description.asp?f=733

Excerpt from Chapter 3 "Trust Me"
"Let’s take a closer look at the ethics of modern dentistry. As you will see in this article, for the majority of dentists it is all about money and little about the cavities, since cavities have declined dramatically in the last 20 years. This article from Reader’s Digest sets the tone for what comes later in this book. Suffice to say that you will find dentists’ credibility poor when they tell us to trust them, their dental association, or the dental industry. Of course there are good dentists out there, but you will see that the majority cannot agree on the simplest diagnosis, so they surely must be ignored in their statements about the safety of amalgam."

Theoritically, nothing they claim is outside of current scientific realm of knowledge. In some of the medical sciences, one needs to rely on one's good judgement on things as not everything in medical science is supported by double blind RCT. Rather, most medical procedures are not.
I wouldn't discount something so easily just because it isn't mainstream at this moment. Most of medical procedures start out this way.

how can you find fault with a system that aims at using only non-toxic substances in the human body, and what is wrong with testing the material first before using it on the patient?
What is wrong with remoing a known toxic, highly toxic substance suh as mercury from the human body?
