Gel is for holder to hold hair or thicker hair. It does a better job than moouse, but the kind I am using now (Samy) does a better job than gel. As far as hair cream, I have never used this. I use a cream for conditioning, but not for styling. Hope this helps.

generally a hair gel dries hard(er) and gives a more solide style.
Hair cream remains soft creating a softer less "styled" look. Hope this helps
