(Psalm 10:4) The wicked one according to his superciliousness makes no search; All his ideas are: “There is no God.”

(Psalm 14:1) The senseless one has said in his heart: “There is no Jehovah.”

(Psalm 53:1) The senseless one has said in his heart: “There is no Jehovah.”

Read from 38:1 to 38:5, This is what I get; It is not literally asking where were you. It's like when you had been going through a hard time and that time past. Someone that bailed during your hardship casts judgement and gives their opinion, and they you say Where were you during all of this? Not here, so therefore I do not want to hear your opinion on the matter.

YES you are right we weren't in existence at the time. At this point in Job it is a little while after he was hit with Satan's machinations. But Jehovah (which I'm happy you know his name) was reminding people that he is the one who is our salvation and the Alpha and the Omega and not the causes of whats bad. for a full scriptural break down email me.

Job 38:7 "When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?"

I think we were all with the spirit children of God shouting for joy.

Correction: Job 38:4 in my Holy Bible reads:
"Where wast thou when I laid the foundations
of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding".

Plural "foundations" laid by awful lawful Jehovah?
His Grace laid only one foundation: Jesus Christ.
No other foundation can be laid than "that" is laid.

Job had mega losses, and mega dis-comfort.
"The God of all comfort" = no discomfort at all.
"The God of all grace" = no law law at all.
"That God" = all light, no darkness at all.

OLD - the "generations" of Adam (in Adam all die)
NEW - the "generation" of J->C (in Christ all live)

Them-ward - is accounted as extinction: Dead End
Us-ward - to be accounted as salvation: Living End
http://www.godshew.org/Usward.htm

Narrow way: only "leadeth unto life" by "go on".
"draw back"<-them (Heb 10:39) them->"go on".
"draw back" is to "perdition", a bwd <-BC thing.
"go on" is unto "perfection", a fwd AD-> thing.
It's been AD->goes one way only, for 2000 yrs.
Not to mention "us-ward" neither of two "them"s.

"More excellent": neither broadmindead nor narrowmindead.
"Charity" never fails is neither of two law law loves in Mt 22.
"Greatest" of "three things" is neither "great" nor "greater".
"Above a servant" is neither of two "servants" in Romans 6.

POINT: "Grace" is neither of two "law"s in Mt 22 & Rom 8.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Yes, I agree, we were all non-existant. I think God is telling Job, He is in charge, not Job.

God is just showing Job's ignorance. He continues to ask Job questions that Job cannot answer. Only God can answer these questions that God is asking Job.
