When I was younger, I used to have stronger, shinier, and longer hair, but in 7th grade, I cut it and it has been growing REALLY slow since. It turned really thin and doesn't shine as it used to. I've tried everything to get my hair grow faster and shinier that I guess I got desperate and cut it up to my shoulders. Could it be the shampoo I’m using? I used to use headnshoulders, the one with the green plant and just 4 days ago, I switched to Pantene V-daily moisture renewal. Can u give me any advice on what you think is the problem? What should I do

Here are some hair growing tips:

Eliminate or cut back on smoking, caffeine and carbonated sodas which weaken the body and block maximum hair growing potential.
Eat a healthy diet. Avoid foods that are high in sugar or fat.
Treat your hair like a piece of fine old lace. Treat it carefully avoiding any unnecessary brushing, combing or handling.
Avoid use of hot water, hot blow dryers or other hair care tools that may stress the hair.
Have a weekly scalp massage to provide stimulation to the hair follicles.
Do a series of ongoing hot oil treatments to protect the hair's shaft.
Have regular trims to eliminate split ends and allow the hair to look and feel healthier.
Get plenty of rest and sleep to allow your body to grow hair.

hey...
use a hair mask, or some kind of hair treatment at least once a week.. maybe more.
get it trimmed whenever you feel it needs it (once a month at least)... not alot just a little to get the split ends off.
dont wash it too often, only when you really have to.
be gentle when styling it... if your hair is brittle or weak it will break easily and you will get more split ends.
ask your hairdresser or go to a store with alot of shampoos to choose from... get a shampoo that is for strengthening and putting shine back into hair or something like that.
also it might be worth spending a little bit more money than usual on the hair products. the more expensive something is means it is usually better quality (unless your just paying for the brand or label) the comercial products (like pantene and head and shoulders) wont really do anything to help your hair either. maybe you could buy smaller bottles of the products you try so you dont spend so much money on products that dont work.
anything thats more natural is better also.. most shampoos have alot of chemicals that dry out your hair making it weaker and less shiny again.
colouring your hair, damages it alot as well. if you can try not to colour it for a while.
eating healthy food and drinking lots of water also helps hair... foods with natural oils and fats (avocado?), when your dehydrated you hair will lose moisture also.
ive heard that massgaing your scalp when you wash your hair stimulates blood flow and helps hair grow somehow too.. not sure about that one though?
good luck.. i hope it all works out

Do not use Pantene. It has waxes in it and will build up. This could cause your hair to look dull and life-less. To keep the split ends off, get your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks. Just take off 1/2 an inch or so, and you will be set for another couple months. To get it longer, you just need a good dose of patience.

try eating more fruits and water. Also get your hair trimmed and using Pantene-V that will help your hair.

You can also get an 1/2 avocado and a small jar of mayonnaise Then Peel avocado and remove pit. Mix all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl with your hands until it's a consistent green color. Smooth into hair being careful to work it to the ends. Use shower cap or plastic wrap to seal body heat in. Leave on hair for 20 minutes. For deeper conditioning wrap a hot, damp towel around your head over the plastic, or use a hair dryer set to a low to medium heat setting

Don't use heat cuz it will dry your hair out, don't dye either.

Okay I absolutely LOVE Pantene Ice Shine. My hair used to be bad and then I started using this (shampoo and conditioner) and my hair looks great!

whatever you do DO NOT use head and shoulders again, its the worst shampoo ever and makes your hair really flat, you cant make your hair grow faster unfourtunatly, but keeping it healthy is easy, make sure you get 800mg of calcium a day a.g 30g cheese 250ml milk and 150g of yogurt, clacium is really god for your hair skin and nails, and make them grow stronger and healthier, a good shampoo, is herbal essences, it smells great, and makes your hair super soft and shiny, also if you get split ends your hair will grow slower, to prevent it, get your hair trimmed atleast every 2 months
