Since it's completely impossible to spit out ALL the mucus (you'd have to never swallow or eat...) it's kind of pointless to try, and spitting infected mucous is pretty gross in any case. The bacteria that cause your throat infection won't infect your stomach (they'll just get killed by the acid), so it won't hurt to swallow it. If it could spread anywhere through swallowed mucous, it already would have spread anyways.

In conclusion spitting the mucous out is completely unnecessary!

SPIT IT OUT... if you keep swallowing it, it'll keep coming back up. Spitting it out will help you get rid of the infection.

you have to of course spit it out otherwise if the mucus gets inside ur tummy it will make u feel sick and stuff. so better spit it out.
