Im getting highlights and but im not sure what would be a right color to get they will complement my skin since im dark-skinned but not real real dark....what are good colors to get that will make me look good as a whole? o by the way my real hair color is dark-brown

go for a caramel color with some chestnut color highlights. you'll be stylin.

A black person usually looks good with Red hair. It brings out their natural skin color and maybe it'll work the same if you use it as highlights.

I have seen some African American people have pink hair. But I would say the most common highight color is blonde.

Burgundy is our color. Or the reddish browns. Clairol has a hair color for the African American women called Clairol Texture & Tones.

Personally, I think purple highlights would be subtle but fabulous! (Color Pulse by Loreal Paris has an awsome color- Purple Groove)(Go to Yahoo France and type in color pulse. Click on Loreal Paris-Color Pulse and when you get to the site click "neuances" Purple groove will be in there. click it and look at the awsome pic.

Any color would basically look good if your the right person...but a more darker color would look better for your such as burgundy or somthin settle your not tryna look waaayyyy out there...! just cool,calm, and collective!

Alot of sisters your complexion like to play with the red color family or if you really want to get noticed try blonde.

I have nappy hair as well, and my hair color is like Beyonce's w/ a touch of bronze-blondish highlights. And it looks good, it's not too fake looking. I looks well, and especially since my hair is relaxed it looks well. But it might look a little different on you since your darker.
