I have a MkII 1998 T reg clio, and there seems to be a leak from either the sunroof or windscreen as when it rains the fabric on the driverside column between the windscreen and side window becomes wet at the top. has anyone else had this problem, and if so how did you repair it? (p.s the sunroof is an electric one and very complex)

Sounds like the sun roof seal may be the problem. Open the sun roof as far as it will go and with warm soapy water clean the seal all the way round, I think you will be surprised at the amount of dirt that comes off. Then wet a rag with WD40 and lightly smear this over the seal. Leave it in the open position for half an hour and then clean off any WD40 that is left.
The WD40 will cause the seal to swell up and return to its original size and shape.
This hopefully will solve your problem.

Yep, I've had this problem too and I have a 2000 W reg Clio with a manual sunroof. After really heavy rain the water pours through the light socket (in the roof) when I drive. My garage have had trouble diagnosing where it is coming from because the leakage isn't immediate.

I've learnt to put up with it for the time being!

Your drain tubes from the sun roof are either blocked or leaking .If you carefully pour a small amount of water into the drain tube orifice you should see it leak out under your front wings. If not get your garage to apply light air pressure to the same not above 10psi this will unblock them hope this helps.

my husbands clio ( 2000 reg) also had this problem but we didn't fix it just part exchanged it for a new car!!

it's very expensive to rectify, (we did look into it) so, if you can, you may be better off getting shot of it
