They will have their own rooms in our new house and I don't even know where to start. Their ages are 7 years, 5 years, and 2 1/2 years. My oldest likes green, black , & white. The others don't really care. The middle is pretty girly:) Any websites with ideas or magazine names would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would suggest at least in the case of your 7 yr and possibly your 5 yr you could get their input as in what their favorite colors are, themes (like if really girly could do a princess themed room). For the youngest, if you haven't already I would suggest investing in an expandable bed which "grows" with the child. IKEA has them. It all depends on how "intense" you want to get in theme decoration. If you think it would help your child to take pride in their room and therefore help keep it clean go for it. Otherwise more simplistic ideas can be seen in the PBteen website.

I put in a few links that might help below

I don't know about websites. But home depot & Lowes has great paint books and stuff. Take them and get some clues from them. The older girl I can see a jungle theme but from China. With bambo and pics of Pandas then you have green black & white and not too girly! And for the girly one? Lots of pinks lace, maybe a disney princess theme??

I am doing my sons room now with a space theme. Also IKEA has great stuff too. I live miles from one but I order the catalog and order stuff from home.

I also love target, Anna's bed bath & beyond & wal mart.

I have a 12 year old stepdaughter and I am totally re-doing her room...the theme is "funky."

After a ton of thought we decided to design her room after a lava lamp. (Cool idea, eh?) We are doing black and white stripes on the wall and having stencils made in "gloopy" lava shapes and filling them in all over the wall in lime green (over top of the stripes.) Because the wall will be so busy that makes the rest of the room easy to decorate. Just keep in simple! A satin lime green comforter and sheet set with 3 FUZZY pillows: 1 in lime green, one in black and one in white. I got a floor lava lamp off of ebay and her rug will be lime green. All of her furniture is being painted flat black.

We are also doing my 13 year old son's room in black and white stripes--but with a poker theme! Now that is going to be a blast, too!

Hope this helps!

How about I just come over and decorate? :o) I would love to do those ages. For the oldest, go with a light olive green paint and accent with blacks and whites for a good contrast and brightness. Okay this would take forever to explain. Dang it!!!

Maybe this will help, lots of websites out there I just recently did my girls playroom over and soon to do their bedrooms over as well and they are 7, 5, and 3. It's not easy pleasing them all and most of them change their mind a lot in a matter of a week or so. LOL good luck!
