There is no "better results". The use of whichever type panel is used is dependent upon how much damage or cancer you're repairing. If the damage or rot is extensive, they you may need the full panel; if the damage or rust is simply on the lower quarter, you need only replace that area.

At any rate, the use of quarter panels to replace damage is generally not a do-it-yourself project, unless you're skilled at welding repair, finishing and painting. You might do better to find a competent bodyman who can do a more accurate estimation on which panel you need and is willing or able to do the job at a reasonable rate.

Repllace the whole panel right up into the upper sail area.Weld it,lead it and the repair is just like factory installation. You use after market parts and for value this replacement will add value to the car
