Sometimes it takes men a little longer to figure out if they are in love with you or not. Now that you are starting to feel that way, he probably is either feeling that way too and will say it soon, or at least is picking up on the feelings you have and maybe wont reciprocate. When I have felt that way in the past, before getting to the "I love you" stage, it was fun to just say the word "love" ... like, "I love it when you look at me that way" or "I love the way I feel when we're together" or "I love kissing you" This at least kind of releases that energy of your love to him in a way that can be very satisfying at this time of the relationship.
Four months was right about when my boyfriend told me that he loved me, so it may be right around the corner for you.
If he hasn't gotten there with you at the six month mark, maybe that would be a good time to check in with him and ask him how he feels for you.

I don't think that's too old. But you have to think if he's that much older than you he's been down this road before. You want to make sure he cares about you before you drop the bomb. I told my now fiance that I loved him first. . I had never done that before. I didn't plan it out or do anything like that . . I knew how I felt, but I didn't want it to sound staged. So I just let time take its course . . then one day i was like "i think i love you" it slipped. And now we've been together over 4 years and it's perfect. My advice is don't plan it, if you feel it say it . .

18 and 22 is good. I met my boyfriend when i was 18 and he was 22, i think you are both at a good maturity level, and i like that you are waiting to say you love him until you are sure, and i think you are sure. When you love someone you just know, you think about them all the time, you think everything they do is adorable, you worry about them, you make sure their day is going well, etc etc, just come out and say it girl!

no, he is not too old - 22 for a man means he is a baby. you dont have to tell him in those exact words - you both might freak out with such a statement. show him how you feel - whether its love or passion or lust... tell him when he feels the same and you are sure, no reason to rush.

The easiest way is just to tell him.
Telling someone you love them is a huge deal.
One question...do you want to tell him you THINK you are falling in love with him, or wait until you know that you are in love with him?
Good luck! Love is an amazing thing!

Sure you can be in love - but wait until you think he'd say the same back or says it first? Feel him out -
Let him know subtly at first - you will never forget your first love. So make it really ideal - :)

What until you Know that you are in love with him... maybe start off by telling him you have a lot of feeling for him and see what he says.

I love you not only for what you are,
but for what I am when I am with you.
I love you not only for what you have made of yourself,
but what you are making of me.
I love you because you have done more than any creed
could have done to make me good,
and more than any fate could have done to make me happy.
You have done it without a touch,
without a word,
without a sign.
You have done it by being yourself.
