Insulin allows blood glucose to be transported from the blood into the cells. Cells have an outer wall, called a membrane, that controls what enters and exits. Insulin binds to receptors on the cell's membrane and this activates a set of transport molecules enabling glucose and proteins to enter the cell. The cells can then store the glucose as ATP that provides ENERGY to carry out its functions. Once transported into the cell, the blood glucose level is returned to normal within hours. In turn, Insulin stimulates the liver to make glycogen from glucose which has entered the cells from the blood stream. Working from the opposite end: the hormome called Glucagon, stimulates the liver to break down the stored glycogen to convert it back to glucose when required.

Insulin does not touch the sugar. Insulin bonds to the cell receptors which allow the glucose to enter the cell. Once the glucose enters the cell it is converted to ATP

Amylase breaks starch right into a lot less complicated sugars. (mouth, and in the technique the digestive kit) Pepsin breaks proteins into peptides. (abdomen) Trypsin breaks proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids. (small gut) Catalase is used to break Hydrogen Peroxide into Water and Oxygen.
