I believe that once a person exercises saving faith in Jesus Christ, he or she is forever in the family of God. God never kicks anyone our of his forever family. A number of Scripture passages support this view. For example, in 1 Corinthians 12:13 we are told that at the moment of salvation the Holy Spirit places us in the body of Christ. Once we are infused into the body of Christ, we are never excised from the body. In fact, Ephesians 1:12 and 4:30 indicate that at the moment of believing in Jesus Christ for salvation, we are permanently "sealed" by the Holy Spirit. At that point, we are God's everlasting property. That seal guarantees that we'll make it to heaven.
Moreover, we read in John 10:28-30 that it is the Father's purpose to keep us secure despite anything that might happen once we have trusted in Christ. Nothing can snatch us out of His hands. God's plans cannot be thwarted (Isaiah 14:24). Further, Romans 8:29-30 portrays an unbroken chain that spans from the predestination of believers to their glorification in heaven.
Another fact we need to keep in mind is that Christ regularly prays for each Christian (Hewbews 7:25). With Jesus interceding for us, we are sucure. (His prayers are always answered!)
Of course, the fact that a believer is secure in his salvation does not mean he is free to sin. If the Christian sins and remains in that sin, Scripture says that God will discipline him or her just as a father disciplines his children (see Hebrews 12:7-11).

You cannot "lose" your salvation like you lose an object. But I believe you can deliberately give up your faith and lose your salvation in that way. What do you think will happen if you reject God or decide to live a sinful life anyway?
The Bible often talks about persevering, about keeping the faith.
"All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved." Matthew 10:22
In 2nd Peter, it is said that a Christian that returns to the world is in worse condition than before he became a Christian.
"If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning."
2nd Peter 2:20

This all depends on what you think of losing, and how you view salvation. Salvation is through the cross of Christ. It is by his blood, by the grace of God that we are saved. It isn't by our own merit, by our own actions, or by anything we earned. We didn't deserve it. It's simply a gift. Romans 8 says plainly that there is nothing that can seperate you from the love of God. There isn't some grand sin that you can commit that will make God turn his back on you. Hebrews states that God will NEVER forsake you or leave you. That's the truth of the scripture. However, we can and do turn our backs on God. Someone can very easily renounce their faith in Christ and go a different path. It is not so much that they did something sinful to cause God to take their salvation away. It is that they lost faith and they, by free will, chose to turn away and stop being a Chrsitian. Many people like this stay in this state of mind for a while. Some turn back to God. Some do not. It is a choice we all make. I hope this helps.

No. Our salvation is not based on us, but on Christ Jesus. If we couldn't do anything to get it, we can't do anything to lose it. Check out Romans chapter 8. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. The whole book of Romans is really great about salvation. Starting at the beginning it builds a clear picture of what our salvation is.

Let's define salvation from a theist perspective. If you are "Saved" you believe in Christ and the bible.
Now from an agnostic point of view, if you are saved, you have become blind to the fact that quite possibly the bible is nothing but an old story that people have put too much thought and faith in. If you've lost your "salvation ", in my opinion, you are questioning the stories that have been presented to you as "facts" (and they are not facts!) and are opening yourself up to personal growth.
So don't worry about it. You're on the right track. Keep purging that "salvation"

Salvation cannot be lost once gained. Jesus said nothing can pluck you from my hand. If you could loose salvation, salvation would be founded by righteous acts, which is not possible, otherwise there would be no need for the sacrifice.
You are a child of God, if your child were to break your rules, they would still be your child correct? Same with God.

No, a TRUE Christian cannot lose their salvation. Once you are saved by the grace of God, you are saved. Nothing can take that away from you. You will still have to answer for all of your sins when you die. But you will go to heaven if you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Esau replaced into circumcised, which replaced right into a declare of salvation. yet God hated him from previously he replaced into even born. It did no longer recommend he lost any salvation, it did no longer recommend he had an risk everywhere in his existence. in case you cite God's foreknowledge, sure, it certainly replaced into there. yet while mixed with predestination, or particularly passive reprobation, there replaced into no possibility EVER of any salvation for Esau. The Bible does say that we are able to recognize Christians by way of their end result. We see on the exterior, yet of direction God seems on the middle. we don't definitively recognize who's saved and who isn't, and we don't take a seat on the judgment seat. Is it obtainable to lose salvation? no longer if predestination is real -- and left to recommend predestination instead of twisting it around to someway portray a begging God. A Christian could have insurance of salvation -- yet that certainly would not recommend that God owes it to all people.

Sure.
People erroneously believe that because salvation is a free gift of God, it cannot be squandered, lost, or rejected.
But Adam was originally created without sin, and given many gifts by God, and look what happened to him!
Through unrepented, serious sin, and a complete lack of Christian charity, one can become an "untrue" Christian, and lose their salvation.
The Holy Spirit will not consent to dwell in a temple that has been abominably corrupted by sin, and a soul without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is not fit for heaven.
