When I open two applications in Excel at a time, they use the same window, instead of opening another window allowing to you toggle back and forth. Then when I close one it forces me to close the other one. Any suggestions on how i can change this it is very annoying?

What is the problem? Nature of the beast. I just got through testing and it does not force you, if you close one and save to save the other. In otherwords to close one you do not have to close the other. The only time it asks you to save both is when you exit the Excel application itself.

If you are closing the window and not the actual program then they both shouldnt close. Make sure you are clicking the smaller second x and not the X at the top that closes Excel!!

Use CTRL + TAB to alternate between open Excel sheets. When closing, do not use the X on the main excel window, use the X on the sheet you want to close.

Have you tried opening excel, then opening your worksheet, then opening excel and opening your worksheet instead of clicking on a worksheet link?
