The only evidence we have is that the Bible said it was the best.
They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Presumably snce it was a miracle, and God knows what perfect wine is, and He was showing through the sign the excellence of the New Covenant over the Old one, it must have been as good as good can be.
Top quality red Bordeaux? Chateau Neuf du Pape? (the Pope's wine). In Jesus time presumably the best wines were imported from Carthage, Spain, Italy, Greece etc, but maybe the Jews had kosher rules against non-Jewish brews.

white wine. i mean. he started with "water" (actually the white wine) said "abracadabra. let the holy ghost make this water. open seseame." and pretended that the water had been magically transformed to wine.
