I had a 3 legged cat that got adopted from us. He was so funny and the name was the best. We were going to name her tripod or stumppie or something to that affect, but the best name we came up with is IHOP. It is good because it is a name of a resturant and the cat really does hop i hope you chose my name Thanks and good luck

"Tripod" was the first thing I thought of. Since he's playful, you might also call him "Mischief," if you'd like a name idea that doesn't involve his missing leg.
"Lefty" sounds like a tough-guy name and would be perfect if he's missing a right leg. If he's missing a left leg, you could name him Lefty for the ironic effect. :-)
"Stewie" or "Stewart" would be an **indirect** reference to the missing leg ... stool (3 legs) - stoo - Stu - Stewie/Stewart.
Hope that's good for some ideas. Congratulations on your new furry housemate.

"Tripod" replaced into the 1st ingredient i presumed-approximately. when you consider that he's playful, you additionally can call him "Mischief," in case you wish a recognition theory that would not contain his lacking leg. "Lefty" appears like a tough-guy call and can be appropriate if he's lacking a perfect leg. If he's lacking a left leg, you may desire to call him Lefty for the ironic result. :-) "Stewie" or "Stewart" may well be an **oblique** connection with the lacking leg ... stool (3 legs) - stoo - Stu - Stewie/Stewart. wish that's good for some concepts. Congratulations on your new bushy housemate.

Excellent of you to have adopted this three-legged furry love-ball. Makes me feel real good inside. From all cat lovers, I say THANK YOU to you.
A name for this miracle cat... I admit that the first names that popped in my mind were "Tripod" and "Trigo" (from trigonometry - the mathematics of triangles).

3 legs is OK, that's 2 more than my dad's got. What about Long John, after the pirate, Long John Silver. He was pretty tough.

I like "Tripod" too. You could also name him a regular people name and just put "3-legged" in front of it. For example "3-legged Pete", or "3-legged Willy"
Some tough guy names off the top of my head:
"Tyson"
"Tiger"
"Diesel"
"Big Boy"
"Mac"
"Chubbs"
"Cujo"
"Monster"
"Hercules"
"Hulk"
or since he's playful and mischieveous you could name him something like "Trouble" or "Mischief" or "Frisky"

Although you don't have a female, one of the best names for a 3-legged cat that I've ever heard (and being a vet tech, I've heard a lot) was from a relief vet that I worked with. He named his 3-legged one "Eileen". :o
