Lebret.

It can cause gum erosion and other dental problems if done incorrectly. Go to a professional. You can find some here : http://www.safepiercing.org

Labret.
And it CAN ruin your teeth, most piercings around your mouth run the chance of damaging the enamel on your teeth. If put in a good spot then the chances of it rubbing your teeth are drastically decreased.
If you're interested in any mouth-type piercing only goto a highly recommended/experienced piercer, as they can tell by your mouth where the best place to pierce will be to minimize chances of damage to your teeth.

Proper placement, jewelry type and size can dramatically reduce the risk of gum and tooth damage, but can never eliminate it.

Make sure you get it done by an expierenced pro. There are a lot of people who have labret piercings, many have no problems with them, but some do. It wouldn't be so popular if problems were common.

Labret and it can cause damage to your teeth such as weakened enamel, hairline fractures and cracks and there can be gum recession.

However, when pierced correctly and taken care of damage can be minimized greatly.

Also, you can get dental acrylic and bioplast labret studs which are softer more gentle materials that will reduce damage done to your mouth. However, once the damage is done, its often hard to reverse if not impossible and severe damage will cost you a fortune to fix. If you get the piercing and notice damage, decide which is more important to you.

I have had my labret done on two seperate occasions. I had a single (centered) and later on I went with a double ( two/ one on each side of my goatee). I never had a problem. I suggest that after the sweeling goes down to go and get the shortest stud that will fit. This way it will hug your inner lip and not catch anything. You will also not play with it in your teeth.

Not totally, your ring will rub the uotside of your teeth. You need a titanium ring. They are expensive, but it won't do too much damage. Toung rings will damage your teeth no matter what type of steel it is made out of. If you clamp down on it with your teeth, you could possably break them and wind up spending a thousand on getting your teeth fixed.
