Depends. Leopard only runs on Macs, so if you have a PC and don't want to spend $2000 on a new machine, you're better off with Vista. Mac OS in general has fewer viruses, but also less software. Mac is better for graphics, Windows for games. If all you plan to do is web surfing and word processing, either will work (although I'd go with Linux for that because it's cheapest and has fewer viruses).

I work on both at my job and I think mac is easier to work with. I have a pc at home but I don't have vista on it because I don't like it yet. I say yet because windows usally gets better with time.

If you want simplicity, go with OSX. I'm not a big fan of Vista (yet), but I enjoy working with Windows much more than I do OSX because it's a little more in-depth.
it just depends on what you like.
