There can be many causes for high hemoglobin
-Living at a high altitude
-Smoking
-Congenital heart disease
-Failure of the right side of your heart (cor pulmonale)
-Scarring and thickening of the lung tissue (pulmonary fibrosis)
-A rare bone marrow disorder (polycythemia vera)
-Dehydration, such as from severe diarrhea or excessive sweating
-Kidney disease
-Exposure to carbon monoxide
-Anabolic steroid use
To treat high hemoglobin, you have to treat the cause.

It should not happen in India.
I think,
Normally a person with high iron in blood gets high Haemo rate.
And this means the person is overhealthy. or Obese or overweight.

One thing is a high red blood cell count another is dehydration. Call your doctor nd ask him for an explanation of your blood tests...it really irritates me when they give you the results and not an explanation...you paid for that too!
