It decreases certain digestive enzymes in your stomach. Had mine out, kinda have to watch the REALLY spicy foods, but get heartburn now occasionally (gotta around it with tagamet once or twice). Other than that, feel better because no more gallbladder pains. Do have a couple of scars from the surgery. Everyone is different so might not be the same for you, but have talked to others and seems there might be some foods you have to avoid but otherwise no worries.

You would feel a bit lighter (weight reduced to the extent of the weight of gall bladder). and nothing else. I know of someone who underwent the procedure very recently and doctors never adviced any change to her lifestyle (for your info, she is pure vegetarian, these days deep into pranayama and related yoga, a bit obese and the primary reason was due to gall bladder stones). Possibly the dietary habits is the reason for no change in food habits.

you would have to cut down on high fat foods as the main function of the gall bladder is fat digestion.
