What should I buy I want some good liquor that will not leave me groggy tomorrow. I do not know how to mix drinks I am not a bartender so bartenders help me out. What liquor can I buy that won't leave me groggy? and what drink should I make with it? FYI I have only had one Martini and it was way to olive tasting maybe some variations of a Martini will do the trick. Thank you in advance.

Take what ever you like and add it to coke or your favorite soda. I love rum and coke and tequila and coke. If you don't want to be groggy though you should just drink a nice red/white wine. Most liquors leave you groggy becasue they are mixed with sugar and other things. If you don't drink too much though you will be fine.

Another option is amaretto, it is a little sweet and nutty just drink over ice don't mix. Very yummy.

There's plenty of things you can do: One of my favorite past time no hangover drinks is malibu rum and Dr. Pepper. No fancy mixing involved . . . Little bit of malibu Little bit of D.P stir it up and drink. Its bomb for a fruity drink. Or you can do an amaretto sour. . . the best amaretto is called ~Disarano~ Thats spelled wrong but a liquor store will know what it is. And then a sweet & Sour mix. Here you can get them in a grocery store but a liquor store will have it. It's yellow and it comes in a big glass bottle. Same trick here. Pour the alcohol first, then ad the sour, do a little first for your taste preference. You can do this same trick with whiskey (my personal favorite.) But the trick to not getting a hang over with whiskey is to drink the good stuff. . . I like ~Penelton~ It's expensive but smoothe. What else . . . margaritas are always good with ~Patron~ Tequilla or ~Quervo Gold~ these are simple just stick to the 1/3 trick. You can use either lemon or lime juice which ever you like best. And you can make them blended(blended ice) or on the rocks (over ice.) Take 1/3 cup of juice (lemon or lime) then 1/3 cup tequilla ( i usually double this) 1/3 cup of sugar WAIT before you put the sugar in put it in a dish with a bit of lime juice till it become like a paste (kinda) just really thick and not grainy NOW ad it to your mixture. . . k here comes the choice part if you want it blended, place a handfull or so of ice in a blender and chop it up till it's almost foam, then add your mix (if you do it too soon your drink will taste like water) get a glass and run your finger with lime juice around it and have a saucer w/salt on it. Dip the rim of your glass on the saucer and twist. then poor in your drink. If you want it on the rocks, blend your mix together if you don't have a shaker and have the ice in your already salted glass. . . then poor the mix over it and wa-la you're done.
If you want to go really soft and fruity get a bottle of any kind of pucker ( i like watermelon) and mix it with 7-Up it's called a jolly-rancher.

Try something you think you would like. Maybe some strawberry bannana mix, with some tequila. Or a bootlegger like apple or strawberry. They are 40 proof and contain about 15% alcohol. Start off with something not so high. You don't want to get trashed.

I haven't seen the movie, but from what I have heard, a little liquor isn't going to be enough to get you through it.

Vodka has less impurities. Try a vodka martini.
