We have a cabin and go there every weekend almost. One of our favorites is stew. It simple beef, potatos, and carrots. Put it in the oven with a stew pack and some water all day. Plus it give the cabin a great smell.
If you don't have an oven, soups are great especially if it's cold. I make home made chicken and noodle and ham and bean. Chili is great too. Anything you make at home that's simple is just as simple to make at a cabin.

Get a box of the Zatarians Jambalaya mix rice, one 28 oz can of whole peeled tomatoes, a package of kielbasa, and a package of deveined and tailless shrimp....Cut up the kielbasa in small pieces and cook until done in a skillet, then add the tomatoes and squish them with the back of a spoon until all the juices are out, add rice and 1/2 a cup of water. Cook for about 20 min, then add the shrimp. Cook 5 more min....Ready to eat!

Halloween Hash

1 lb ground beef
1 can kidney beans
1 can whole kernel corn

Open both cans - drain the corn but NOT the kidney beans. Brown the hamburger and drain the grease (rinse if you want). Pour the corn and kidney beans in the pan and stir. Heat until all are hot. Then serve. :) It's good with buttered bread on the side.

Spaghetti, beans, hamburgers, corn boiled with small red potatoes and shrimp all in one pot-put shrimp in last 3 min.
Prepare and freeze the food so all you have to do is reheat, except for the corn, potato and shrimp. GL and have a great, safe trip. =)
