a little of the bride and groom's history is always nice; especially since some people may not know it. Maybe thanking both of your parents for how they've helped you along the way. And then a little something special for your bride... good luck!

Don't listen to the people one here. I am a certified wedding planner.

You are the host of the wedding and must speak.

Normally the bride and groom are the last to speak. You thank your guests, your attendants and your parents.

If you are speaking then you tell your bride how wonderful she looks.

I have been at weddings where the bride was too choked up to speak and the groom spoke alone.

But one of you needs to speak.

Beside thanking all for coming to this memorable day of your life.
Telling how or when you meet your loving bride in the first place (I'm sure lot of people loved to hear it) & end it with looking honestly straight to the bride eyes and express to her again about your purest loving feelings towards her (she will definitely remember her happiest moment on the day she got married).

Finally, wishing well to those who are still looking forward for soulmate so they could feel more motivated. They might not know that they could end up as lucky as you.

I don't think the groom gives a speech.
