I have a few friends who always interrupt me when I talk. Sometimes, it's not even on the same subject that I was talking about! What is the best way to deal with this? I find it really rude and annoying.

And yes, I have tried being more interesting - my other friends don't find me dull!

Redirect the subject. They might just be excited that you've been hitting it off. I interrupt a lot when I'm talking with friends and I'm in a hyper mood. Maybe it's because I'm so happy and comfortable in the friendship that I want to talk too much.

Maybe you could tell your friends to settle down- seriously! Be kind, say, "Whoa- I know you're not meaning to be rude, but I was talking, buddy! Let me finish my thought before you start yours, okay?"

I would think since you say it's "a few friends" you are probably the reason they are interrupting you. Maybe you pause too long or maybe it's your body language. Maybe you don't get to the point.

My brother-in-law takes forever to spit out what he's trying to say and I know a lot of people cut him off.

Just say to them, "Excuse me, but I was not finished talking". If they continue to interrupt, then maybe they are not good friends.

Sometime's my friends do that what I do I just say HELLOOOO I was talking but say it in a joking around way they will start laughing and say what was you talking about so maybe this will work for you... or even when they start to talk don't stop talking becouse they intrerrpted you.

Be funny about it. You can say, hey, Interuptus Maximus, maybe you can let me finish before you jump in there. Or be stern...there's the ever popular, "Let me finish!" I think humor will ease your anxiety about confronting the interupterererer. :)

When that happens to me, I confront the person who interrupted me by saying, "I'm sorry, perhaps you didn't realize I hadn't finished what I was saying yet..."

If it continues, I smack them in the snoot with a bag of dead trout.

When he does it, reach for his package. Don't grab him, just make him think you're going to grab his jewels. When he jumps away continue talking as though nothing happened. Keep this up and he'll get the idea. It does work, I have done this. But I'd weigh the chances of their being a fist fight and who would win.

Kicking them would display your immpatience. Never do that.
Thats a sign of weakness.
Instead, ask them to complete what they wanted to talk. Then ask them if you can start you turn, in a low and dignified tone. I know its a little tough with friends, but it works wonders.
If they further continue to annoy you. Give them a smile and stop talking. Have patience...................................
PATIENCE IS VIRTUE. Never get intimidated.

They have no respect for you. Find new friends.

I just interrupt them back, tell them to shut up, and resume what I was saying before.
