That is a great analogy. Some believe that we ARE what God is doing, that we are the lifeblood of the spiritual body that is God. We can sometimes act as cancerous, though, by pretending that we have no connection to one another.

do you mean "is the universe God?" cause it isn't. God, for the most part, is amaterial. Most believe God is spirit, and by definition a spirit is intangible, so the universe (which is tangible) could not be God's body.
if you mean, "are we living righteously?", I'd say most of us aren't. The body of Christ exists on earth right now, but we need to be more united, as if one part of the body suffers, it benefits none.

The Body of Christ is the church-- those who are saved. And we who are saved are all members of ONE body and that is the Body of Christ.
This is written to christians:
Romans 12:5
so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
1 Corinthians 12:12
The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.
