I think it's time to boycot the stupid questions and answer only the people that are REALLY LOOKING FOR ANSWERS.
We are wasting time defending ourselves on questions like if God was a tree, or what if Jesus was alive today what car would he drive.
How stupid why answer them?

I'm going to start answering people that are only wanting answers to mature and legitimate questions and are searching for God and needing help.

Is anyone with me on this?

No, I'm not with you on this one. I welcome all types of questions. If one is open-minded, it is quite possible to learn even from seemingly antagonistic questions and answers. And that's what it's all about in this life...learning. Not maintaining the same old worldview you walked in the door with, but actually learning something new and different.

As far as I know, no one is required to answer ANY questions. Have you been wasting your time on them BEFORE now?

The stupidity of a question is not always an objective judgment. The "tree" question would bother me because the metaphor is backwards, you would have to match the perceived qualities of the tree to match God. But the car question might be interesting. Under the idea of WWJD, we evaluate our attitudes and actions in the world. Something as mundane as buying and driving a car does count. It affects our life and the lives of others.

For that matter, could you say Jesus could never consider driving a car? He seemed pretty anxious to eat that fish in the upper room after his resurrection, even when his glorified body didn't need it. A short car trip might be fit into a re-demonstration of his humanity at his return.

Seriously, we should only attempt to answer questions to which we feel we can make a meaningful contribution. Troll feeding is a noxious habit but people do it for fear of allowing an outrageous comment to go unchallenged. Which speaks louder, forty responses or zero? Don't rise to the bait (unless you have a particularly witty comeback, of course).

I get tired of sifting through tedious, ignorant questions. Sometimes there's three pages of nothing worth responding to. A sincere "how come" is a welcome relief from a cynical "why would" any day. It is a mark of discernment to concentrate on the one and ignore the other.

I've been doing this since I got on yahoo answers. It's pointless to waste my time answering a question asked by someone that really doesn't care what I say at all. To think that God needs me--a lowly human being--to defend him really is silly. God exists regardless of someone's silly questions. He is more powerful than people's unbelief and he's more powerful than our own personal doubt.

Answering the silly questions makes the answerer (and God in the questioner's mind) look like a fool for taking the question seriously.
Unless its silly 'ha ha', an innocent joke and you want to make a funny reply.

Good point! It is wisdom to share your knowledge with understanding with those who will benefit. A person has to be willing to accept the truth before they can apply it to their life and live by the truth. The hard part is to know when your nugget of truth will be a seed that is planted in fertile soil and will be able to grow and mature. As long as we are willing to stand up and stand on God's truths we are doing our part. It is up to God what the results are not us. We are supposed to do our part and leave the rest up to God. It is because we have a God that we can really trust that we are able to do this. Don't you agree?

Well, I think you're finally using Yahoo Answer as it was intended to be used. Answer only the questions you feel like answering and skip the others. There will be plenty of people to answer the serious and the stupid/silly/fun.

Yes, that is what I try to do..answer legitimate questions..and ignore questions that mock..If I want a laugh I go to polls & surveys..rather than stay in this section and make fun of people who I don't agree with..

I have always stuck to the honest questions---Some days I will answer a question that is semi silly --but if it has anything to do with blasphemying my Lord, I do not bother. Yes, why give them the time of day?
It is just a distraction, the enemy is using against we who are sharing the truth of God's word. Press on Sista!
