My daughter is in her first trimester pregnancy and the Rubella test came negative. This is her 2nd. baby.

It means she has never had rubella. If she did have the vaccine, her levels of antibodies are too low to measure - or she never had the vaccine. She should talk to her dr. about getting the vaccine after she has the baby. She is at risk for infection from those infected with rubella. Rubella can cause sever problems for the baby - so she should steer clear of sick kids with spots!

Rubella in pregnancy can cause birth defects or even death of the baby. The test is negative which means she is not currently infected, and so the baby has a much better chance of being born without any complications.

Almost certainly means that you have had the diseases before (or been vaccinated against them) and your antibodies have been transferred to the baby. The fact that IgM is negative in baby means that the baby has not had the disease recently - so basically, it means that your baby has not been affected by rubella or CMV.
