I have a coustik 320QE amp installed in my car. All worked fine until yesterday, my subs were not working and the amp was in protection mode.(Red LED light.) I tinkered with it and read the manual and found out that one of the speaker wires was loose from the terminal. I retightened it and all was well. Turned the car off and went to bed. I got in the car this morning and they were not working again. Checked the amp and it was in protection mode, so I jiggled the speaker wire and it cut right in. Why is everything okay until I turn my car off and then the amp goes into "protection" mode again? Thanks I have double and triple checked all the wires and fuses and I can't find anything else that could be a problem.

Take it to a qualified service technician. Without testing it, no one can really give you an answer.

Something to check would be to see if your speaker wires are crossed. This can cause distortion among other things. Also, maybe be that the amps connections internally are loose. Maybe this will help, let me know.
