One of my close friends just recently passed away from Osteosarcoma. She was only 15. My Father passed away from the same disease two years ago, and I'm looking towards getting a tattoo in memory of them. I know that I'm getting it on my left side, from my hip to where my back is. I want something small and something I can cover, maybe including their birth and death dates, along with a swallow or something? I'm not sure, any ideas or drawings would be great.

A swallow is a great idea. One of the beliefs behind swallows, is that they carry the spirits of the dead. Talk to a tattoo artist and let them come up with a few ideas. Good luck. Sorry for your losses.

If you want a swallow in the tattoo. I think it would look good if you had the bird flying through some clouds and in the clouds have thier names and dates of birth and death. Just an Idea. I know some one who designs tattoos if you want you can e-mail them I know she could make it look really good for you. alienchick1@yahoo.com just make the subject "tattoo design"

I'M IN A SIMILAR SITUA. I JUST POSTPONED MY LAST APPOINTMENT TILL I GET OVER MY BRAIN LAG.

YOU HAVE A GOOD PROJECT. I DRAW FLASH FOR SEVERAL TATTOO SHOPS AND MY BEST ADVICE IS NOT TO TRY TO PACK TO MUCH INFORMATION INTO A SMALL PICTURE, MAKE SURE WHATEVER YOU DECIDE ON HAS CONTINUITY, AND IF YOUR GETTING IT CUSTOM DRAWN HAVE YOUR ARTIST DRAW IT SPECIFICALLY FOR THAT AREA OF YOUR BODY. STENCILS CURVE AND DISTORT IMAGES, TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION AND USE THE CURVES OF YOUR BODY TO ACCENTUATE THE IMAGE. IF MONEY IS NOT A FACTOR HAVE THE TATTOOIST HOT SKETCH IT RIGHT ON YOU, BUT TALENT LIKE THAT COST AND ITS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT NEXT DOOR.
GOOD LUCK, & MY CONDOLENCES.

i would sit down with your tattoo artist and work together to come up with some ideas. They are not called artists for nothing.

Horrible Idea. First, don't ask other people for help with your tattoo, if you want something to remember those that have passed then make it yourself. Why would you want a rememberance tattoo that you're just gonna cover up?

I think you should have a broken heart under the names of your feather and best friend.
