I count calories, and it isn't because I want to. Now it is an obsession, and I am not even all that thin. I just am aware of what I am taking in and it help keep you balanced. Oh and a reality shock, when you eat out, just about anywhere, assume you are having about 1000 + calories a day. I try to keep it to 1300 or less a day with either diet or exercise or both. If you want to lose a pound of fat a week, get rid of 3500 calories a week. [1lb human fat = 3500 Kcal] Good Luck, it isn't easy. Calorie king.com is a good site to peruse.

I'm not obsessed with calorie counting, because I eat things in small portions, and in moderation. That's the key to maintaining weight, but poeple just seem to like starving themselves better. I don't understand it.

If I had to say, I probably eat 1300-1800 calories a day. I just eat whatever, and not feel guilty about it, so theres really no need to count calories.

I have to track what I eat, or I either eat too little, or too much.

Sometimes I track what I eat on http://sparkpeople.com and make sure that I am within my recommended calorie intake (1250-1450) for losing weight at increments of no more than 2 lbs a week. (calories are adjusted for how much I weigh, and how much exercise I do)
But I find it is easier to track points when I am on Weight Watchers, because its easier to count to 20 something than over a thousand, and you start to learn the points value of foods - like how a banana is 2 points.

But really I track my food, not to count the calories as much, but to make sure, every day, that I eat 2-3 servings of dairy, that i am eating enough fruits and veggies, and that I am not eating too many carbs etc. I also will track my water to be sure I am drinking at least 8-10 a day (I tend to be forgetful of what I've drank)

I don't worry about calories. that's no way to live life counting calories every single day imo :) I make sure that i'm not overeating and i'm only eating when i'm hungry and limit my sweet snacks to one a day. If i was to estimate i probably consume 1500 or so.

I'm hypoglycemic, so I have to count calories. I have to eat 5-6 times a day. I can have no more than 300 calories per meal,in order not to overdo it. You just get used to it, you know?

I don't think it's healthy to evaluate how many calories you are consuming on a daily basis...focus more on exercising regularly and eating in moderation...
