I aksed a previous question regarding people becoming overly foucussed on figures within their religion and loosing sight of their religions philosophy.

Is Religion politics for believers?

I am constantly confronted with people with the mind set of "I am This and My Ideas are Right, They are all wrong, They are all bad"

What has happened to spirituality?

Overly religious people seem to forget about the spiritual aspects of their religion. I believe it does become a form of politics... something to use over other people in order to get something. Most are more worried about what titles or names others use, rather than the person and their words & deeds. I have seen some within ALL religions get to the point that they would overlook "evil" done by others within their religion, yet condemn someone outside of their religion for the exact same thing. It seems religion, like politics, has produced more hypocrites than anything else.

They have been brainwashed into thinking that they are good people because they read the bible and go to church. Those 2 things don't make you a good person. Look at how much they hate because they believe their religion is right and is the only way. They sepearate themselves from the rest of the world because of a belief. Would God really want you to hate your fellow man in the name of some religion? The God I believe in would not.

...I try to keep from pushing my agendas & get back to what Jesus & the Bible says about things. People can have whatever opinion they choose, but I will always put it against the "grid" of Scripture.

I need to add, that sometimes even my grid is warped. That is why I am open to others people's opinions.
