An antihistamine should help with the itchiness, and you can buy a lotion over the counter. I would ask the pharmacist when you get there.

. It looks like a rash of tiny blisters that are very, very close together. The skin gets really warm to the touch and the blisters pop and it itches like crazy. It almost looks like a burn. You don't have to go directly into poison ivy to get it, you just have to come in contact with something that has poison ivy oil on it. Even a pet getting the oil on it's fur could give it to you. If you suspect you have it I would recommend using a poison ivy scrub. You can find it at the drugstore.(It's kinda pricey, but worth it). It eliminates poison oils, cures itching, and speeds up the healing process. Also try taking some Benadryl tablets. Make sure you wash everything you were

Yes, the best thing for poison ivy would be calamine lotion.
it's a pink ointment or lotion.whatever you want to call it.
my mom used it on all of us and it always worked best.
it's very cheap and works really good. stops the itching and it dries them out quickly.I believe the bottle is brown.unless it changed. but you can get it at any pharmacy, somewhere near the benadryl ointments. cvs, walgreens, rite aid, eckerds
they all sell it.Give it a try, it works! it'll go away in like 2 days.
spread enough of it around the posion ivy filled areas.
it'll dry on the skin and stay a light pink color but the itching will stop. don't cover the area up until it actually dries or otherwise it will just rub off......also, try drinking benadryl pills. those will help too....stay out of the sun, it just makes poison ivy more irritable, keep yourslef well hydrated with water and in a cool place....hope this helped..Good luck!

Zanfel, at www.zanfel.com or tecnu extreme at www.tecnu.com are the only over the counter things that will STOP the itch after one or two applications....well, OK, if it is a super horrible case, it might take three, it did once for me.

Expensive, but worth it for the relief, but don't waste them on mild cases.

You can buy Calamine lotion over-the-counter but they also sell Gold Bond anti-itching cream that I bet would do the trick also.

Calamine lotion. Prednisone is the best though, because it takes down the inflammation. Good luck.
