They use them at Monster Truck rallies, seriously though, they all eventually get sold somewhere.

At a dealship they hold onto the cars. In December I almost bought a 2006 Grand Prix they had even though they were starting to get the new 2007's in they were selling this one as new becuase it have any kilometers on it. And I could have walked down the street and bought one with 15,000km on it for $3,000 less.

Also dealers trade their cars between each other. If your looking for a specific car and the Chevy dealer in your town doesn't have one it will call the next closest one and say "Hey I have a guy here that wants a Chevy Colbolt and I don't have one. Send yours down and I'll send you up a car you may need".

Dealships are also semi-privately owned. They kinda buy the cars from GM then selll them and make their profit. If the car happens to not sell for a year or so, and the dealer has to sell it for less then what they got it from GM for, GM will give them a "kickback" (the difference of how much money they lost when they actually did sell it).

Trust me, they all get sold eventually. What they do at the end of the year/period is sell the new cars they haven't sold already for a lower price than usual to make way for the newer models coming in. Haven't you heard the commercials. The lower price advertizements really hooks people in and the cars get off the lot in no time. Its a cycle that happens every year at car dealerships. I used to work at one.

Those for local consumption are sold.
However our local Mitsubishi dealer had a contract to supply cars overseas, and built 7000 cars in anticipation, but the deal fell through at the last minute.
As they didn't meet Australian standards and where left hand drive, of to the crushers they went, had guards on duty right through the process so no one could take parts of them

They are usually discounted at the dealerships until they are sold. The longer they have them the cheaper they get.

They are always sold.... they either become demos, rentals, loaners or discounted heavily until sold.
