I know that everybody has different feelings and thoughts about death. My mom always said to me when I was little that when somebody dies, they are watching down on you. If they do watch over you, are they watching EVERYTHING that you do??? What do you think?

I think that they are aware of all the important things you do...they have so many people to look after, they can't possibly be in all places at once. Really, I mean, who wants to say, "That's my niece picking her nose!"?? I think they know the things that will matter most in your life's path. And, they probably drop by when you are thinking absent minded- the best time for you to "feel" or notice their presence.
Just my thoughts, though...

I always used to think that too: the departed would be able to watch over you whenever they wanted.

But who knows what truly happens when we die? We could just feel nothing - like we did before we were born. Or we could be in a paradise.
We won't know until we actually die. That's no help.

Just think of it this way - 'why would that somebody watch over every little thing that I do?' Yes, they may watch you sometimes, but they would probably watch over others as well. Just don't get too worried about it. =)

Well wouldn't that make you act a little better when no live person is watching. I think when a loved one dies they do watch over you, not watch everything you do like showering, going to the bathroom and such. Just maybe like a guardian angel, to help you stay safe.

I personally feel that your loved ones watch you,but they watch over you. I do believe that if they are sensible as they were before they died that they respect your privacy as they supposedly did when they were alive. This question is called philosophy. Because I do believe that there is a Higher power which I believe in God. We have the freedom of choice to do correct actions or taking the wrong way God is with you and when you make awrong decision that He is saddened but He is always available. I also believe that our Spirts have "some type of job", I believe we have our Guardian Angels trying to help us, sort of with danger or feeling than something is wrong or right or when we are in danger. I'd like to believe that my guardian Angel is my Dad. We were very close in Life, so also in his death we are still close. I hope I havent been too much off your question. We are alwys watched over, but as in Life we still have the right of privacy. All we have to do if we feel that we are in danger or need specific help, we may call upon God and he answers. Take care. God loves you and you are blessed. Also when your friend died, I believe that she was blessed to see beyond the veil of life, but she still hasnt finished what life has in store for her.

Misuse of the words die, death. You are talking about transformation or transmutation. The words death, die, etc. are not open for discussion. Death is the end of life. Key word is "end."

Should someone transform into a being that can watch over you they deserve what the pick up from eavesdropping. Should someone transmute into an energy field that can watch over you... same thing.

Supposedly, yes they do see everything! It kind of makes you think. If you listen to Sylvia Brown (if you believe in that sort of thing!) she says not only do your loved ones see everything but all of the "people" looking down. Kind of makes you think!

Yes they are watching everything. I have had a friend who died twice but had to come back as it "wasn't her time yet" and she can tell me all about what she saw and felt.

I agree. That means every time you think you're alone, really, all your ancestors are watching you masturbate, pick your nose, eat the entire pint of Ben & Jerry's, etc.
